Special event: 24 hours of Zazen around the world (September 13 and 14).

24 hours of Zazen

An event led by the nuns and monks of the Sangha Kosen.
September 19 and 20, 2026.

Description

We invite you to participate in a mini-marathon of 12 online zazen sessions over 24 hours, led by the nuns and monks of the Kosen Sangha community, who facilitate this practice throughout the year—whether as leaders, assistants in the Kosen Sangha’s online dojo, or as those who provided significant support for zazoom49j following our master’s passing.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

Goal

To offer zazen practitioners in Master Kosen’s sangha the opportunity to practice together one day a year, in different parts of the world, despite the distance.

To broaden interest in zazen on Zoom beyond our own group, discover how others do it, and find common ground.

To launch the zazoom practice at the start of the school year in Europe.

Schedule

Start: Saturday, September 19, at 7:00 a.m. Argentina time, 12:00 p.m. Central European Time.
End: Sunday morning. The usual ceremony for the zazen sessions led by Toshi and Paula. The sessions last two hours; it’s easy to find your way there, and you can rest a bit between zazen sessions.

Fuse for the Kosenshinji Zen Temple in Havana

The price is fuse (for example, the cost of one or two in-person zazen sessions).

Paying is part of a mindset: we pay for what we value. Last year, Kosenshinji was able to install a well. See the well and pipe.

Your fuse played a big part in that. This year, Cubans are generally facing enormous difficulties as a result of the U.S. embargo.

We will continue to help them; please note: it is essential to include “Kosenshinji” in the payment notes, otherwise the funds will go to the Abzd.

  • By credit card or PayPal on the website https://www.zen-deshimaru.com/en/abzd-association/make-a-donation/
  • From Europe via bank transfer to the account of the Abzd: Association Bouddhiste Zen Deshimaru, bank: CREDIT COOPERATIF, IBAN: FR7642559000342102685150865
  • From Argentina, bank account: Asociación Zen de América Latina (ALIAS: azal.zen.deshimaru), ACCOUNT NUMBER: 0230444562, CBU: 0110023540002304445626

Zazoom rules

  1. Essential: Position the camera at a distance that allows the instructor to observe your entire posture—from your knees to the top of your head. Sit in profile, or better yet, in a three-quarter profile.
  2. Log in with your microphone muted 10 minutes before the zazen begins.
  3. Proper lighting.
  4. Do not stand up or disconnect before the end of zazen.
  5. Speak only after zazen is over.
  6. Enter your name on Zoom, including your city and country (if applicable), so that you can be identified.

The Online Dojo reserves the right to remove anyone who clearly does not follow these rules.

Zazoom reopens on Saturday, September 5.

Upcoming event: 24 Hours of Online Zazen, September 19 and 20, 2026.
